Lady Di is a 6+ year old, born May 17th 2004, Rescue Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that we're fostering.

Di was picked up by the local animal control roaming loose, and ended up in the county shelter.  They are a real nice group of people who's interest is what is best for the dogs they're caring for.

She's an un-spayed Tri Female of unknown age.   Definitely overweight with a drainage from her eyes.  We've got her on artificial tears eye drops until she gets to the vet for a full checkup.

Took her to the vet today for a full checkup.  Lady's a hefty girl, at 18.6 lbs.  She should be around 12 - 13 lb. range.  Her stool had blood in it and she's got dry eyes.  Once her weight is down, she has to go in for a spay and teeth cleaning.  The Vet gave her medicine to work with the blood in her stool.  I got an appointment setup with a canine ophthalmologist to look at her eyes.  He helped Tess, another foster I had, go from 0 to 7/9, so I hope he'll have as good luck with Lady.

She's settling in well.  She is not house trained.  Lady was skittish around people at first, but now that she realizes that people mean she gets good rubbing and scratching, she comes over and wants the attention.  She wasn't familiar with stairs and didn't know how to go up or down them.  Watching our dogs, and with some assistance from us, she will now go down stairs.  She has trouble going up, but we believe that with the loss of weight and some exercise, she'll soon be going up the too.

With her weight loss, down to 16 lbs, she goes up and down the stairs without a problem now.  She become more social, but is still standoffish when someone new comes in.  After a few minutes, she'll go over and want attention.

She's had her teeth cleaned and lost 4 due to decay.  She's also been spayed.  She does have a low output of tears, so will probably require routine eye drops.  It looks like every other day.

Her tear production has increased.  Unless she in a very dusty area, no exe drops will be needed.  Her grade 1 murmur needs to be checked on the annual exams and there's no heart enlargement to go along with it.  Her allergy was to corn meal used in some dog foods.  Without it, all her redness and scratching has gone away.

Lady Di has gone to her forever home.  She's a big sister to keep her company and a nice home with a large yard to roam around in.

Snoozing

Huh, what was that bright flash.

Lady Di curled up with Clair's puppy, Minnie.

I would say she's comfortable in her new home.
