Ariel is a 4 year old female cavalier. Ariel is a puppy mill turn-in. She's well behaved and just slightly skittish around people. Once she gets to know you though, she wants to be right there with you all the time. She's in good health except for her teeth, current on all her shots and heartworm negative. She does need to get spayed, teeth cleaned and a general health check. She weighs 18.2 lbs. She is under-weight and will be a large cavalier, probably around 20 – 21 lbs, after she gets where she should be. She's settled in very well. She's getting along great with the other dogs here and comes running over for attention. Wants to be in your lap anytime you set down and loves to sleep in the “big bed”. She’s been to the vet for her spay and teeth cleaning. She didn’t lose any teeth, but did have an umbilical hernia that was taken care of when she was spayed. The lab work came back positive for heartworms. Not the filare that can be checked in the vets office, but adult heartworms. She’ll continue with the HeartGard and then start the treatment for heartworms after she’s been on it for 3 months. She’s had her first series of heartworm shots and is doing well. She goes back the first week of May for the second series. After those are done, we’ll have to wait 30 days and have her retested. If she’s heartworm clear, she’ll be available for adoption at that time. She's had her second series of shots and her 30 day retest. She is now heartworm clear. She has been adopted. He has a wonderful family to keep him company.
