Chevy is a 5 1/2 Year Old Blenheim female owner turn-in.
She's a really sweet girl.
She's a little overweight, has an ear infection, that is being treated,
and diabetes.
We're reducing her food
intake slightly and mixing it with some of our grain free food that we
feed. She's got an allergy, with the resulting hot spots, so she's
also getting half a Benadryl with her meals. We'll keep it at
that, along with the food change, to the Fromm's
Grain-Free Salmon Tunalini, and see how it works. That should
help while we rule out other things.
The grain free food and 1/2
a Benadryl have cleared up her red belly and scratching/chewing on
herself. With the food changeover she's getting 2 units of insulin
after meals, which is twice a day. That's stabilized her diabetes.
After a couple of weeks with the Benadryl, once the redness cleared up,
we took her off it. She's done fine ever since with no other itchy
spells.
Chevy rides great in a car,
or truck in this case. Fit right in with our dogs and is laying
here on a mat by my feet. She's already house-broken and does well
on a leash. As you can see from the images below, she's
comfortable walking around or being a couch potato.
A wonderful couple came to
visit, and adopted Chevy. She's got a new name, Chessie.
